If you’ve visited our “Road to 100%” page, you’re aware of our ambitious goal to achieve 100% renewable energy in the region by 2030. A crucial part of this journey is the development of a solar farm.
This project has been ongoing for several years due to its scale and complexity. We’ve encountered numerous challenges along the way, much like navigating the bumps and hurdles of Wildog Road.
Below is a high-level roadmap outlining the necessary steps and our current progress:
We believe we have:

Gained social license from the community to proceed.

Educated ourselves on the technology and market forces, established relationships, and identified viable solutions.

Identified two suitable parcels of land.
We now need to:

Identify an additional three parcels of land.

Obtain a government grant.

Select a quality, like minded partner.

Build the project.
The current phase – Identifying land involves:
Locating potential sites through:

Seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs)

Using map searches
-
Word of mouth
Assessing potential sites based on factors such as:

Slope and aspect
-
Solar radiance and minimal wind speed
-
Access to roads and high voltage power feeders
-
Minimal visual disturbance
-
Land size and current use
Negotiating with landowners to determine:

Their interest in collaborating
-
Willingness to sign a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
Securing planning permission for one or more sites, which is:

Managed through the state government
